ICANN86: transfer policy, IDNs and DNS abuse move into implementation

ICANN’s recap of the June Board Workshop and ICANN86 points to a more operational phase for domain policy: transfer policy recommendations, second-level IDN support, registration data access, AI and DNS abuse are all moving forward in the same calendar year.

For registrars, registries and domain investors, the practical message is that governance is becoming part of domain value. Clear transfer rules, secure registration data procedures, mature DNS abuse mitigation and reliable IDN handling all affect how trustworthy a namespace is.
