Domain sellability: why theoretical value is not enough to close a sale

A domain can have a strong theoretical value and still remain unsold for a long time. In domain investing, the key question is not only “what is this domain worth?”, but also “who is the right buyer, why would they need it, and when would the purchase make sense?”.

Sellability depends on buyer fit, timing, pricing discipline and the clarity of the commercial use case. A name that looks valuable on paper may be difficult to sell if the likely buyer pool is too small or hard to reach.

Webinvest reading: valuation tools are useful, but the real test is market demand. A good portfolio should balance estimated value with concrete buyer scenarios.
